Slackline rigging education

Education

A safe community starts with educated and knowledgeable members. From regular rigging practice sessions, to indoor rescue trainings at PMI, and coordination with local search and rescue, we are committed to ensuring all who slack are able to learn best practices from some of the leaders of our sport.

About

FRSA is an organization to unify and represent slackliners in the Front Range of Colorado and beyond. There is no membership, and no official leaders, for now. The goal is to provide easy references to our wonderful community members with their wealth of knowledge, and facilite getting into the sport at any level. We are students, working professionals, and have been known to go our own way in the past. FRSA is a mechanism for us to tame our rowdier tendencies and work together to protect the spaces we love for all outdoor activities and all people. A unified public face for communicating with land managers, decisionmakers, and recruitment.

Where are the highlines, and how can I get on one?

If you are excited to try the extremes of the sport, we strongly encourage developing a relationship with folks who are actively in the community. While it is theoretically possible to teach yourself everything you need to know to rig from online resources, nothing is a replacement for true, hands on learning, from experienced riggers. Slacklining in general has undergone explosive growth in the last decade, and many online resources are outdated and considered bad practice, despite only being a few years old. While some locations for areas to rig are available online, many are kept semi private due to agreements with landowners.
